those kickass telus goats are the cutest things i've ever seen. no lie.
our time at the lake yesterday was pretty perfect. the sun decided to come out and the afternoon was lovely. josh and i took the boat out for a tour and i loved every minute of it. as always with josh's family there was a ridiculous amount of decandent food at dinner, but i wasn't complaining. grilled steak and lobster tails, plus huge shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, delicious salads, and the best corn i've had in a couple of years. so yum!
speaking of dinners, my going away dinner for work was thursday night. it was pretty decent. my manager made no secret that she wasn't impressed with my choice of restaurant, what people were wearing, etc., but i got over it (and i think she did too, once the wine got to the table). i was presented with a couple of beautiful gifts, and will certainly think of kenora when i put them in my new apartment in toronto. one is a lovely limited edition line drawing/painting done by a local artist.
[please excuse the dull colour, the blue is actually quite vibrant. my dying camera was being highly uncooperative]
the other is an inukshuk made of soapstone.
in case anyone is wondering, this is how the packing is coming along:
we took apart a few pieces of furniture the other day and the house is looking rather empty. i like it. it's making me very excited.
i am fully addicted to twitter.
i fucking love the wonder years. i want to watch all the episodes, right now. |
