i might brave a mall today, partly out of boredom.
long story short, josh bought an ipad last week. yesterday he won one at work. meanwhile, my mom bought my brother an ipad mini for christmas, partly based on price. josh has offered to sell her the ipad for what she paid for the mini so it's win for mom and for alex. the only issue for me is that i bought alex a case for the mini as his gift. so now i can either go back out and buy a new case, or i just add some cash to my gift so he can upgrade himself. the former makes me feel like a better gift giver, the latter means he can choose exactly what he wants. meh. we'll see how bored i get this afternoon.
i have laundry on the go right now, then i can pack tonight. our gifts are already in boxes, ready to go down to the car. we're going to pack most gifts tonight, after josh gets home, so i don't have to do it all alone tomorrow. joshua works till close tomorrow night (which is 6:30, but my guess is it'll likely be closer to 7 by the time he actually gets out) and i'll be waiting for him. we'll zoom away right from his store and hopefully be to my dad's by 9-9:30. family gift exchange there with my siblings, then on to mom's by midnight. josh and i are hoping this will be our second-to-last childless christmas, so we've agreed to take full advantage of family fun until late on christmas eve, then sleep in on christmas morning. we'll do gifts with my mom and stepdad, and alex and kristen in the morning, and dinner with just the rents at night. my mom is cooking a 15 lb turkey for the 4 of us, so there ought to be lots of leftovers.
josh has to work boxing day, tho thankfully not until 12:30, so we're able to stay another night and come back to the city early on the 26th.
i am little kid calibre excited for christmas! knowing that i don't have to be back to work till the 2nd of january certainly doesn't hurt either. |
