i promised deets about the shower, so here's a run-down:
- got to mom's friday night. we made a tutu for dora and it is the cutest thing ever in life. i may or may not have worn it around the house for a while.
- saturday jesse was the first to show, to help us get ready, and get our drink on.
- the shower started at 3 but nearly half the guests were late. whatever.
- game #1 was a word scramble that made everyone feel dumb, and my sister and emilia won.
- so much food: nachos, shrimp, veggies, fruit, cheese, cupcakes. muchos drinkos too.
- game #2 was the old toilet paper wedding dress contest. i had begged jes not to play it, then took it back, and was glad i did. HILARIOUS.
- gift time. omg, so many gifts. the first thing i opened was from lindsay, and on top was a dvd that said "put me in and press play", so i did. it was a video she made, introducing herself to everyone, explaining how much she had wanted so come but couldn't, and talking about our friendship, and how awesome i am. i definietly got choked up, but my mom was the real mess. tears and snot and everything. awww.
- i got entirely spoiled! sheets [perfect for the new bed we're having delivered friday], a mini food processor, a bunch of servingware, a sushi set, wine/champagne, underwear, a gift card, cash, a toaster, my keurig coffeemaker, and other miscellaneous things. oh, and lindsay gave me the boudoir photo session that i wanted! my friends and family are so generous.
- game #3 was a "how well do you know ange?" type survey. my mom won, tho i wish we'd also given prizes for the answers that made me laugh the hardest. dee's answers nearly had me in tears, between the inside jokes and the outright ridiculousness.
- at 6 some people left, my parents went out for dinner, and we ordered pizza from my favourite place. i didn't order much since we'd all been eating off and on all afternoon, tho as soon as the pizza arrived it was devoured and i wished that i'd ordered more.
- played some games, including one kristen called "mennonite madness" [or a variation thereof], and guesstures, which my team killed at.
- eventually everyone was gone but jes, emilia, and kristen. we got in the hot tub and i ingested more than my fair share of pudding shots. so yum! can't wait to make more, with different flavours.
- the hot tub didn't agree with emilia, and when we got out she passed out in the kitchen, then vomitted in the bathroom. you know it's a real party when...
- it didn't take long for emilia to come back to her perky self, and dora became the star of the show. jesse, emilia, and i cuddled her on my bed for a while, then she went downstairs to the guest room with emilia. i got a bbm in the morning saying "fyi, dora and i snuggled all night. i'm currently the big spoon". too funny.
- made mimosas, sausages, and pancakes with blueberries, raspberries, and whipped cream for breakfast. all so good!
- the girls left around 11, i packed up and hit the road a couple of hours later. it was such a great weekend.
