oh oh oh oh oh the right stuff.

07/09/2009

thank you to everyone for the good luck and other sweet comments on my last entry.
my interview was this morning. a phone interview with etobicoke general. i think it went well. they seemed to like me, and i know that they were impressed with my cv/experience. i have to admit that working here has been a really great resume-booster. i do x-ray, fluoro, mammo, and ct's, which is way more than i'd be doing in etobicoke, at least for the time being, but it looks really good that i am trained in everything.
that all said, i don't think that this is the position for me. nothing is official by any means, but i have a feeling that if/when they offer me this position, i'll have to turn it down. it comes down to timing. i was under the impression that the "temporary" term was a year. the ladies interviewing me today, who admittedly didn't have all the details, said it was likely 4-6 months. it's not worth moving cross-country for 4 months.
as i've been saying all along, if it's meant to be, it'll happen. i emailed h.r. with my references, and the questions that my interviewers [who were in x-ray/ct, not human resources] couldn't answer for me [like starting wage and contract length]. we'll see where it goes.

yeesh, 4 months. Is their regular on maternity leave or something? That's so short....

Ah, non-US-countries and their realistic paternity leaves. One of my bloopers was on leave for 2 WEEKS before she went back to work! Isn't that crazy!? Well, it's nice to know you're desirable though, right (as if you didn't!)?

You're right. Whatever will be, will be. I do hope it turns out in a positive way, though. Frealz. They'd be lucky to have you.

I'm really glad that your interview went well, even if you decide not to take it. I'm sorry its not for as long as you were expecting, and without at least a promise of a year - it wouldn't be worth going that far and giving up a stable job. Like you said - it will happen when it's supposed to. <3 *hugs*

The right job will turn up eventually, i know it.

Well, I guess getting back in the swing of interviewing is worth it. Even if you don't take the job, it's good practice.
