i haven't heard anything back from the job i applied for yesterday. yes, i told them that i couldn't start till september, and if that wouldn't work them to withdraw my application. and it's only been 24 hours. and "only those considered will be contacted". but still, i was sort of hoping for an email, even just confirming that they received my application. oh well.
one of the other girls at work is leaving too. long story short, she needs a life change, and is moving out to calgary for a new job. full time, great salary, paid relocation expenses, signing bonus, killer benefits and perks. fuck. i want that. but i don't want it in calgary.
knowing that she's leaving has really motivated me (even moreso) to get my shit together and get my name/resume out there. i went thru the websites for every hospital i could think to apply for today (as well as workopolis and monster) and made a favourites list for easy access. it's a pain having to check thru each hospital individually, but if that's what i have to do, so be it. at least now my resume is up to date and i have the list of potential employers compiled. turns out that there are a ton of places i could work in the states, if i were so inclined, but we all know i'm super opposed to that, so thoughts of california were short-lived.
i jammed a bobby pin in my hair today because it wasn't doing quite what i wanted it to, and i think i liked the result:

Yeah. Just worries me that the baby won't be healthy enough. My mom didn't breast feed me for that very reason. Then again, we eat a lot healthier now than she did back then.
