long story short, i ordered a new bed today. it's from a store nearby, but it was cheaper to order it online and pick it up than it was to just walk in and buy it. i'm really really happy about it, in theory. however, i have a terrible feeling things might not be so perfect in practice. a) i asked the guy at the store if the slats can be installed lower in the frame to accommodate our super deep mattress, and he said it was no problem, but i have a feeling he was just telling me what i wanted to hear. b) i'm worried about the logistics of actually getting it home. i hope it fits in my car without hassle.
if things actually fall into place tho, i'll be really happy. it's very similar to the bed we had our hearts set on around christmastime that ended up being unavailable.
in other news, my friend krysta moved back to toronto this week, after living in halifax for years. we got together for sushi and general chitchat last night. it was so nice to see her, and even better to know that i can see her essentially whenever i want now. i think i'm going over to see her new place tomorrow, and we'll have dinner of some sort. she's coming to eat taco bell and watch svu all afternoon with me and sarah on saturday. there is a bunch of worlds colliding friendship stuff going on right now, all of it good and fun. |
