1. Imagine you are your favorite actor, musition or athlete and write what it is like to be "in the spotlight"

Jonathan: It is my pleasure to welcome the lead singer of my favorite band to the show. He has sold more than 120 millian albumbs world wide. Let's welcome John! Bon! Jovi!

John: Hi, thank you for having me on your show.

Jonathan: thank you for fitting me into your very busy schedule. I appreciate it.

John: Anything for you man

Jonathan: you have a greatest hits albumb out with 4 new tracks.

John: yes, it takes the listener through the years. It has some of our hits as well as fan favorites and as you mentioned, 4 new tracks.

Jonathan: I started listening to you in 1987 with slippery when wet. It's been 23 years since then. I have a cousin who is 11 and he likes your music. What is it like to know that your music is onto a second generation?

John: it means I am old.
(croud laughs)
John: no, it is amazing. I have been blessed to have the abilities and desire to keep writing music, playing and touring for almost 30 years. I couldnt of done it with out the fans though. With out the fans, I would have nothing and it is that which makes it still fun to play. I plan on playing for a long time.
(croud cheers)
Jonathan: What is it like when you go home to your family?

John: It is great. I get to take the garbadge out and have dinner with my family and help my kids with homework. I am a husband and father first.

Jonathan: that is great to hear. I think what the big fans want to know, what is it like when you are on the road?

John: It's whild. You see and hear the craziest things. It's so fast pace. I may be in three different places in three different nights. We try to vary our songs a little bit.

Joathan: What about the female fans?
(women in croud screams)
John: I think that question is better suited for Ritchy but what some women will do to see me.
(women screaming)
John (laughs nurvously) It's crazy but I love it.

Jonathan: I want to just take a moment to mention some of the charitable work you have done.

Jon Bon Jovi is the founder of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which exists to combat issues that force families and individuals into economic despair. Through the funding and creation of programs and partnerships, they support innovative community efforts to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

It is the organization’s goal to recognize and maximize the human potential in those affected by poverty and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide for permanent, affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs.

The Foundation started its work through the localized efforts of the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football Team, of which Jon was an owner. The Foundation quickly expanded its work to have a national presence in its commitment to develop role models for our city on the individual level, corporate level, and community level by developing, promoting, and assisting in innovative and long-lasting solutions to rebuilding pride in one’s self and one’s community – one SOUL at a time.

Events to highlight:

· Coinciding with the Foundations launch on October 6, 2006, the Foundation also announced they would partner with Project HOME to help rebuild 15 homes in North Philadelphia (project concluded November 2007)

· In April 2007, the JBJSF partnered with Habitat For Humanity-NYC and Delta to do a 3 day build to complete a nine-unit, three-story condominium complex in Brooklyn, NY.

· In November 2007, the JBJSF assisted the Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy Carter Work Project in launching a 3 year commitment to building an additional 150 homes in Los Angeles County.

· In May 2008, joining again with Project H.O.M.E. the JBJSF committed to assisting with building & updating the Saint Elizabeth’s Recovery Residence in Philadelphia, PA which provides assistance to veterans.

· In July 2008, Habitat for Humanity-Detroit, Saturn Hands on Homes, and the JBJSF announced that they would work together to build 5 new homes in the MorningSide community on Detroit’s East Side. The first home owner moved in on December 12, 2008.

· In September 2008, JBJSF and HELP USA broke ground on a 51 unit complex which offers affordable housing with support services for low-income and special-needs person in Newark, NJ. The HELP Genesis JBJ Soul Homes opened on December 8, 2009

· In July 2009, HomeAid Atlanta and JBJSF broke ground on a 16 unit apartment complex with a community room. The Phoenix Pass Complex is a long-term transitional housing complex (the first in Rockdale County, Georgia) serving families, particularly women with children, who are experiencing temporary homelessness in the Conyers/Rockdale County Community. Phoenix Pass is schedule to open in April of 2010.

Bon Jovi collected autographs for shirts auctioned off to benefit Project HOME.

He has helped build more than 26 homes with Habitat For Humanity.

He helped build a health clinic for the poor in New Jersey.

Quoted in Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper as saying, “I think volunteerism should be fashionable. That’s my goal: To make volunteering the new black.”
Causes supported

Jonathan: Unfortunately time is up but I want to thank you again for coming on the show. Good luck with the new albumb and the tour. I will see you on March first in Boston.

John: thank you. This has been great.

2. Who would you most like to be stuck in an elevator with? Least like?
Least like would be easy. Any killer.
As far as like to be: if it is a guy, it would probably be John bon Jovi
If it is a female.... hmmm

3. Photographic prompt: Action!

*break dances!*

(damn, that's showing my age)

47. John Williams Smith the Third

there is this big fancy bar down town
everyone goes, from all around
I walk in way after the sun goes down
I'm just a lonely man, trying to fit in this town

I got my long flowing hair
a black leather jacket, and my chest is bare.
Old faded jeans that I love to wear
and these black boots that let you know, ya, I dare

the air is thick, with cigarette smoke
the jukebox is playing Elvis, is the radio broke?
taking a seat at the end of the bar made of oak
I order a captain and coke

this blond comes over, wanting to chat
she says her name is Cindy, I tell her mine is Matt
she's acting all stupid but I don't play like that
she wants me to buy her a drink, but I ain’t gonna be just another stat

a redhead dressed all in black
she says, "hey there Jack"
"my name is Mary, how you like that?"
Mary is kind of weird, "where is yo ring big boy"
I tell her that I'm not married but I'm not a boytoy.
Marry turns a little, tries to show me her rack
I tell her, "I don't play like that."

chugging down my drink
I see this cutie, she's dressed in hot pink
I tell the bar tender, I want to buy her a drink
from across the bar, she gives me a wink

She walks on over and sits next to me
she says her name is Tammy
my name is John, but my boys call me Billy
she asks why, and I tell her the story

she is here, with some friends of hers
this is her hang out but she is not a player
I find out she's a high school teacher
she works out and plays tennis, "I bet I can beat ya"

I moved here last week
use to live near a creek
I am a carpenter, I get paid by the week.
and I play the guitar for keeps

two in the morning her friends says they have to go home
she gives me her number, and says "I would like if you phone"
she hands me a slip of paper, and then leaves me alone.
I pay the tab, and head on home
