I have seen that a lot of people are doing the 30 day challenge. I'm not. But I do like the question about where your diary name stems from.
My name was given to me by a sweet old lady who still, though she is gone, makes me smile.
I used to work as a CNA in a nursing home. I was about 20 at the time. 5'2. 105 lbs.
There was this woman there, Regina, who we fondly called Jijee. She was in her mid 80's and paralized on one side from a stroke. She was prob around 5'6 and near 160 lbs. She was SO nice to all us CNA's. So patient, so warm and caring.
I would come in in the morning and get her washed up and dressed and we would ramble on about what ever. She was starting to get a little forgetful and would from time to time ask me to run down the st. to her Mothers house and tell her she had invited me to dinner. (Remember, she's in her mid 80's) But, we just kind of went along with it, and it made her smile.
To get her into her Gerri chair we were supposed to stand and pivot her. But she was wasn't steady on the one good leg and it was really hazzardous to do. And she HATED the hoyer lift. It made her so scared. So, I would sit her up on the side of the bed, and simply lift her out and into her chair. She would always tell me to be careful. "Your going to hurt your back lifting me, honey, please be careful"
"No, way Jijee, your light as a feather! I could carry you around all day!" I'd say to her.
She would laugh. "Your my Little Mighty!"
She eventually I think forgot my actual name, and would always just call me "Little Mighty" It was sweet. I really liked her.
And so that is how my name came to be. It seemed fitting. Considering my size, and not to mention some of the things this life has had me carry. But no matter what I'll always be Jijee's Little Mighty. |
