Some people think my taste in music is wierd. I do too, I guess. I can't explain on any sort of musically inclined view. I like certain artists because of different things. I can only point out the things that make me love the songs I do. So today I was jamming to some youtube videos and thinking about what made me love the music I do. Here are some songs, and the section (or sections) of lyrics that made me love them. Maybe you will like these...or not. Ya never know.
Artist: Regina Spektor
Song: On The Radio
Lyric: No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood
And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again

Artist: Papa Roach
Song: Tight Rope
Lyric: My words are weapons in which I murder you with please don't be scared please
do not turn your head we are the future the 21st. century dyslexic glue
sniffing cybersluts with homicidal minds and handguns we are insane.......
..... i speak of madness my heart and soul I cry for
people who aint got control lets take our sanity lets take compassion and be
responsible for every action

Artist: Stephen Marley, Mos Def
Song: Hey Baby
Lyric: Cuz if I was to just to act a fool
Do nothing with myself
Then all my blessings would be cursed
My world would crumble in........................
[Mos Def]
But hold on, every single road I roll on
Comes to an end and I'm back home again
So baby please don't cry, there's no valley low and there's no mountain high
And our love don't die with the passage of time
It just grows more,
And just keep strong
And even though i'm gone, I am never too far
You're the light thru the dark, shining right thru my heart
So my journey must start...

Notes: This is some of the best poetry in song form I can think of at the moment. I can listen to these songs over and over. There is a lot of music I don't like also, but I will get into that at a later time. I would also like to note that I don't really like Papa Roach, and Tightrope was the best song on the best album, which was thier first. After that....not so much. |
