Staying on Budget and Saving Money

11/09/2009

Now staying on budget wasnt always easy. It really frustrated me when all my friends would be going on a weekend snowboarding trips and I couldnt go.

A couple times I slipped but I got back up and kept going.

I wouldn't say Budgeting is fun by any means but sometimes it is needed to get through life.

Once I did start to get the hang of it, I would have some extra money left over from my "food" budget and so forth. I would normally spend it. But I have come to start putting it into a savings account. It wasnt alot ever. Maybe $20 here and maybe $10 the next month, but looking at my account now and being 6 months old, it does have $162! which I didnt have before.

When i can find cuts in my budget then difference automatically goes into my savings account even if it is only $5.

I have become very fond of the "change challenge" ( http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-mljournal&msg=5112.1&ctx=0 ) At the end of the month I count it and roll it, Once I have $250 I deposit it in my savings
