Well, hello and welcome aboard to all the creative and adventurous souls who are undertaking the NoJoMo challenge! Writing a journal entry every day for 30 days is quite an undertaking. It involves commitment, creativity and cleverness - which of course, those of us left on Bloop all have in spades!
Today's prompts are intended to get you thinking outside the box a little - to unleash your imagination, and get your creative juices flowing right from the start. Choose one or more of the following:
1st November - NoJoMo Prompts
1. Communication with other planets has become possible. You have been assigned a new penpal - an alien from another planet, who has spent the past few years studying about life on Earth and human psychology, and is very excited to be communicating with a real life human. Write your first letter to your new penpal (you might like to give him/her a name), introducing yourself. Think about how you would define yourself - your personality, your likes and dislikes, your hobbies, your work - to an alien who only knows about humans from studying. Also think about any questions you'd want to ask.
2. Time travel has become possible. You wish to spend some time with your childhood self. Transport yourself back in time to a point in your childhood of your choosing. Describe the encounter. Think about: how old is your past self and what is s/he doing at this time? What do you say to your childhood self? What does s/he say to you? What does s/he think of you? What do you do together?
3. The predictions about 2012 have turned out to be true. Now scientists know without a doubt that the world will end on Sunday. You have three days left. On Sunday you and everyone else in the world will be wiped out (possibly to an afterlife). How will you spend the next three days - the last days of earth? Who will you spend time with - and how do you think they'll want to spend the time? Will you go anywhere? How do you feel about this abrupt ending?
