Not worth it.
My dearest and deepest apologies to anyone doing Curves, and if it works for you, please skip over this entry because I will be giving it one of my first impressions honest review.
When I first walked in, I expected to see a lot more machines, like a LOT more, as in bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills, ect. There were about... Hmm. Maybe 8? They were all around in a circle, and then there were these little block pad thingies in between each one. We sat down, and the girl acted like I was already going to sign up for the program (no) and then she showed me the prices (40/50 dollars a month, plus a 50 dollar sign up fee. HELL to the no.) Plus, the exercise equipment seemed to be lacking to say the least. There seemed to be no resistance, no way to give yourself a better workout once you got used to the resistance. I guess because its a "woman's facility", we're supposed to believe that dainty workout machines are supposed to be enough for us. Umm... No. Then we took a tour, and passed by the cutest card stand. She said one of the girls made the cards and that some of the profits were donated. I was thinking "oh to breast cancer, or some sort of children thing." No. She said they were donated to the facility. So, let me get this straight. Not only are you charging people 50 bucks a month to be in here, which the amount of people that i had see was probably 15 to 20, account for that for six days (since they're closed on sunday), they're probably making around 5000 a month. Not too shabby. Then they want profits from a woman's cards (which looked adorable by the way. Probably took her a lot of time to make and money.) The workout was lacking to say the least. I didn't break a sweat in the hour that I was working out. The stretching machine probably did the worst damage. My back is absolutely dying. All in all, I don't think that Curves is the right fit, especially what you get for your money. I think the gym that I joined is the right fit now, most definitely.
In other words, special cookies are going to be in my future very soon. :D
