Brooklyn Shai! Born on Christmas Day at 5:50pm. Weighed 6lbs 15oz. Brown hair, blond eyebrows. 10 fingers and 10 toes.
It was quite a Christmas Eve. Kevin came home about 5-ish and I was complaining about whether or not what I was feeling were contractions or not. So we crunched some numbers (the times I had been keeping up with all day) and called the doctor who told us to come on in and we'd check it out. I was only about 2 cm dilated still and they were going to send us home. Kevin told the nurse that we lived 30-45 minutes away and if something happened that he would be taking me to Catawba, the nearest hospital. They kept me overnight to see if anything would change and they gave me a shot. If I was in real labor then it wouldn't do anything for my pain, but if it was false labor, then I would be fine. It did nothing! Kind of a waste if you ask me! Who explains it like that anyway?! Here's this shot but it won't make you feel any better if you're in true labor. Morning comes, I get checked, and they break my water. Ha! I just thought I was in pain. They weren't horribly bad, but it's not something I want to do again. So they gave me an epidural and I was on cloud nine! I could feel pressure here and there but nothing else....it was awesome! Around 3pm is when I got told that it was time to push....that was not so much fun but my nurse was awesome so I really didn't mind it. So I'm pushing for a little over an hour and the doctor comes in and I push for her and I knew something was up because it's not every day a doctor says "Do you want my honest opinion?" My heart sank. I thought something horrible had happened. Of course I said yes. She told me that my pelvis was too small for her head to get through so a c-section would be the best and safest route. I agreed so everyone got suited up and I got wheeled down. Prep was done when I got there and we had a little girl at 5:50. I got sewn up, put into recovery, and then put into my room.
She's a beautiful little girl. She sleeps with her legs crossed and her hands under her head. Kevin says he's not sure he even wants another one with the nightly routine she has us going on. I was like sweet! because I'm not going through this c-section pain again. Not that a vaginal delivery would have been any better but seriously....this is painful. I want to take a nap because she is right now but I have so many things that I need to get done so I guess now is the time to make all those phone calls. Bleh *yawn*

lithium layouts.
