We got it all worked out. That night his dad came home and talked to Austin, and told him, that he wouldn't like it if his Mom was getting presents from an old boyfriend. He told him, Austin if you weren't engaged and living together, that may make this different, but she is your wife to be. He told him, it's one thing to be friends and chat and another to except gifts.
Then he came in the kitchen and talked to the both of us, and Austin said, he would return it to her. I told his Mom, that I didn't appreciate that she got involved in our business. She said, all you had to say is, I don't want to talk about it. That made me feel good that I can say that to her, I told her I didn't want to offend her, she just laughed and said, that wouldn't offend me. She was really nice about it, and said, well if you have a problem you can come to me, or not. She is a fantastic lady!
So last night he called Katherine and told her he needed to talk to her. So she came over, I stayed downstairs. He told, her he didn't mind being her friend and chatting, but gifts are a no. He said, she was like, ok. He said, he just explained that he was engaged and it really wasn't a good idea. He said, she said, ok no problem. He told her, they could still chat and be friends, but not gifts.
I text her later and told her I don't mind if she is texting him or chatting with him, but I couldn't deal with the present. She wrote back, she understood and was glad I don't mind if they stay firends and keep in touch. And I don't mind.
Tonight we went out and finished up Christmas shopping. We took the girls to my Mom's house for her to watch them while we finished up. We went out and ate, too. We went to the Olive Garden.....yum! I love that place and it was nice to go out with out kids. It was a nice relaxing evening. But, my feet sure hurt tonight, we did a lot of walking around and getting things finished up. Glad it's done....hurrah!
