What I'm working on...

01/08/2009

Here are the things I'm working on regarding my 101 list.

6 Be in bed before midnight every week-day for a year (5/260)
13 Do one random act of kindness every day for a year (7/365)

Held a door for someone
Gave a woman some change for the bus
left my loonie in the cart at Superstore so someone else could use it
helped apartment building dweller carry stuff to the garbage room
Picked up some litter
Gave someone change
Someone looked rather lost downtown this morning so I offered them some help.

14 No Starbucks for a month (7/31)
15 Have a date night with John once once a month for 6 months (0/6)
16 List one thing I am grateful for, every day for a year (7/365)

I'll never have to do 2008 again.
Good friends like Lindsey and Freeman (aka her Johnathan)
Spending time with John on a Saturday
A warm apartment
The job I have and what it allows me to do.
For the kids that make it to see their dream come true and make it afterwards as well.
Dark Chocolate hot chocolate

23 Do laundry at least once a week for a year (1/52)
24 Put laundry away immediately for a year (1/52)
25 Use my Wii Fit every other day for a year (3/183)
26 Write the LSATS
32 Do writing exercises 2-3 times a week (0/286)
34 Do something "cultural" once a month (0/33)
47 Try 50 wines I would never have tried (1/50)
54 Watch 50 Documentaries (1/50)

Suicide Girls: The First Tour

68 Buy 5 "just because gifts" (1/5)

Gift 1 - Placemats for my brother.

95 Put myself "out there" more

Our first "date night" is tomorrow. We're going to a Live WWE RAW event. What does one wear to an event of that nature I wonder? Our first cultural thing is on Saturday. We're going to a lecture/conversation series on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He's a German Martyr from World War two is a personal hero of mine and my fathers. I highly recommend his book the cost of discipleship.

During my lunch breaks I'm working through my 2009 LSATS study guide. Which has generated some interesting lunch conversations.

I'm going to start the 2-3 times a week writing excerises this evening.

And I took a step this week in putting myself out there more by starting pole dancing classes.

I'm really hoping to get started on my goal of volunteering but I have to do a bit of research first. And I have to be careful regarding the places I choose to volunteer due to the fact I'm a volunteer coordinator for a non-profit. I want to make sure it's not seen as me not trying to steal volunteers or cause of conflict of interest (example if I suddenly started volunteering for childrens wish...HUGE conflict of interest.) That's why it hasn't been listed as in progress yet.

This list has generated a lot of interesting conversations. At work we're thinking of coming up with a 101 list that is specific to what we do. My boss actually started making her 101 in 1001 list last night. How cool is that? Though apparently she will not blog about it like I do.
