Sarah's Life - Living With (And Beyond) Fibro

Little By Little.

Little By Little.
So I've been continuing with this weight loss thing. It's hard, even harder then I thought. I was actually taking in too FEW calories at first, which was actually making me gain weight. (Not that that made sense to me.) So now I've been doing better and I'm down about 3.2 pounds. Which isn't too bad really. Slow and steady is the best way of going, right?

Dan started school again yesterday. I'm so pathetic though, I really am. I hate him being gone at classes so much. I feel so lonely and depressed. It's really stupid, and I'm working on trying to get better about it, but honestly it's harder then you would think.

Speaking of Dan, our three year anniversary of being together is on the 7th. That's pretty exciting in my opinion. We are planning on going out to dinner somewhere, we just got to figure out where. We want somewhere good, but hopefully not too expensive as we don't really have the money. Any suggestions?

We got through Hurricane Irene alright. She was just a tropical storm by the time she got here. Over 1/3 of the state was without power, but we kept it the whole time. I've seen pictures of some damage all over the place, and it's scary. I'm so thankful that we didn't get hit too hard. It did put me into a fibro flare though. So I've been so tired and in so much pain. But hopefully it'll end soon.

I guess that's it for now, hope everyone is doing well!

RYC: Oh! Sorry I didn't spell it out here. CTS is short for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

RYC: I wish. I'm uninsured, so I can only do home treatment. I wear splints on both wrists and take anti-inflammatories. And pray daily that I will not need surgery.

RYC: Thanks! I'll look into it.

Taking too few calories can hurt you in trying to lose weight. You said this doesn't make sense to you in your first paragraph. If you see your body as a static container, then it won't make sense. But it should make sense if you understand that the body adjusts or evolves in response to environment and circumstances. When you starve yourself, the body response by SAVING/STORING MORE CALORIES. This becomes a habitual tendency and therefore leads to gaining more weight in the long term.

Another reason many fail in losing weight (and keeping it off) is because they are primarily focusing on overall weight. If you want to get slim, you really need to get the lesson at: http://spirfit.blogspot.com/2008/09/do-you-really-want-to-lose-weight.html

If you like that lesson, feel free to see also lessons at http://spirfit.org/Blogs/
