Being a parent is hard at times

10/29/2010

Sometimes I hate the fact that I am a Nosey Nellie... and add boredom with that... bad combination.

So today I decided to browse the court dockets to see if the one chick I work with went to jail or not for her DUI... so After I find out she was lieing ( she did go didn't just get a slap on the wrist, which we knew she didn't I mean come on I live in Maricopa County AZ with Sheriff Joe!!! They call him the toughest Sheriff in America and he has been on the news recently for all the Illegal alien stuff.

Anyways, I put in my 22 year old sons name, because he had his license suspended a few months back because he didn't go to traffic school on his ticket... well I didn't find anything on that but I did find out that he got arrested May 20th for felony drug possession with intent ot sell.. can we say my heart dropped to the floor and I wanted to vomit instantly??? I even found his mug shot. I am seriously sick to my stomach, still am to this very hour. I can't get a hold of him, but I really need to find out what is going on, I pray pray this won't be a prison sentence, but I got a feeling it will be. I am so stressed right now. this will probably kill me if he goes to prison.

I just don't understand were we went wrong as parents, he was raised in a loving Christian home, yeah we were kinda strick but not super you have no freedom strict. My husband said not to blame myself cause it isn't our fault, he is an adult and making his own choices, but still he is my first born, my baby.. I know I can't fix this like a skinned knee but everything in me wants too.. I jsujt wish he would of listened to me and went into the military, I wish he would make better choices, better friends....

My oldest is only 5, but I'm dreading the days where things like this happen... As a mother you just want to make everything better and have them see what you've seen. *Hugs*

I'm sorry. I imagine it's a hard pill to swallow, but your husband is right. I wish your son luck.

Im sorry you have to go through this. BUt dont blame yourself. My mom went through this with my brother. We were raised in a Christian home with loving parents, and my brother went out and did crack, lived on the streets, stole cars, etc. But NOW...he's an associate pastor for a mens rehab minsitry. My mother always went by that one verse Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it" She never stopped praying and never lost faith. I know its hard, especially as a mother. (Not that I know bc Im not a mom, but I saw what my mom went through)
