We just got a new assistant manager at our FAST FOOD restaurant. Its a FAST FOOD place. We aren't a big fancy restaurant that requires reservations. We just barely make payroll as it is. But this new guy, yeah he's going to make everything different. Things are going to change or people are going to have to find new jobs. Ok number 1 if we could find people better then the people we have, yeah we'd have fired them already. I may be a lower manager but I've had many conversations with the GM about the wonderfully stupidass people that work for us. The sad part, the people that he's interviewed aren't much better then the ones we have. I'm starting to wonder about this economy, if so many people are out of work, and so many of them are supposed to be such hard workers that will take any job and blah blah blah then where the heck are they??? They sure don't want to work for minimum wage dealing with dickwads like Kendall (the new assistant). We're already stretched to the limit, and yet they want to stretch us thinner. Ok so yea the place needs to be clean, it actually isn't so bad. If they can't find anything else to bitch about that now they have to search for things like the wheels on equipment that are dirty, I'd say we are doing pretty good. Shouldn't we be vocusing on customer service??? Making sure our drive thru times are up?? Dealing with 8 minute cars?? Nope the biggest thing he wants to do?? Buff the stainless steel in the kitchen. We do the stainless steel in the dining room, where people can see it. But not usually in the kitchen. Where are we going to get time to do that? I've got to worry about school and my kid, I'm not staying until 4am buffing stainless steel just because they think it needs to be done. I don't have that much time, I go in and I do my job. I do it well. I clean, I make others clean. We make it look awesome. But its never enough, they will find something. We can't take trash out after dark, but I have been because they've been bitching about a half full trash can in the back, that's one out of 4 that was half full. Grrrrrr!!! So yesterday the quality control guy was there, he comes once a quarter to watch us work and tell us what's right, what's wrong and what's what. When it was time to leave at 1:30pm I was ready to pull my hair out. How much butter is on that bun? IDK I didn't measure, how much mayo did you use? That's not enough lettuce, oh too much ketchup. You know I'm following product guidelines, I can't guarantee how much mayo, butter or ketchup is on each sandwich. I'm trying to get food made in less then 2 minutes. I can't help it that I'm not fucking perfect but my times are good. He pretty much bitched all day, he stayed until 7pm they said, he got there at 1120am. The GM had me scheduled until 130pm and he got it into his head that I was just going to stay as long as he wanted me too. But I had to get my kid and if he thought I was going to call someone to get my son he was crazy. I ran out the door like I was on fire, left my two year certificate and keychain, I'll get it tomorrow. LOL. I've been there 2.5 years and I just now got my two year congrats lol. Go figure. Enough bitching about work.
My kitten has a cold. I took the one to the vet because it was sick, but like the very next day it was just fine. Then this one got sick. So I called and they said to give the meds for the one to the other. It has a cold, that's pretty much it, but its not eating right so that's why they got meds. This one is starting to feel better cause its drinking but its still just barely eating, but its looking better and not sneezing its brain out. I need to take them to get their shots in two weeks.
