New Life
I feel like so much in my life has changed. That is probably because so much truly has changed! Even though I graduated with my Associates Degree back in 2007, I never really felt like a college graduate. Now that I have finally graduated with my Bachelor's Degree, I feel like a college graduate. But, the torture is not done yet. LOL I started my first ever MBA class this past Tuesday. The first class I'm taking is considered the hardest of all 12 classes - Quantitative Analysis, which is basically advanced statistics. Eek. It's review right now but the homework this week has been kind of throwing me for a loop...yuck! lol
I am no longer at the job that I have despised for so many of these past 7 years. I graduated on 12/15/12 and I started my new job as a General Accountant on 12/17/12. The timing was uncanny. It's a really good company to work for in terms of benefits and culture. My coworkers seem really nice and the pay is decent. The commute kind of sucks, especially in the middle of rush hour. Sadly, though, I'm a little bored with this job. I'm really hoping that this will change. I had a ton of clean up to do. I guess the person previously in this position was terminated about a week before I started and I can see why. There was so much crap on the desk that was never addressed or taken care of and it took me a whole month to basically clean up the mess left there. I did finally learn something new this week (reconciling Fixed Assets and creating the journal entries necessary to adjust the depreciation of those assets) so that is cool. But beyond that, I really don't know what is expected of me and whether or not there will be any room to grow in this position. But, in the end, I'm gaining valuable experience that will help me get my CPA certification once I take the exam.
Things with Jacob are amazing. For Christmas, he bought me a gorgeous pair of diamond stud earrings from Kessler's Diamonds and that same day he wanted to show me a couple of rings that he was looking at. *gasp* hehehe In the end, 2 sets of wedding rings were decided upon that he can choose between should he decided to take things to the next level. They are both beautiful and affordable. I have posted pictures of them below:
This is my all-time favorite:
I would be honored to be given either one if he so chooses. In the meantime, after months of issues on the IUD, I had that taken out on 1/5. We have decided to not use any birth control right now and see if nature blesses us with a child. I may be too old to get pregnant again so we'll just have to see how that all works out. Whether it happens or not will be fine and we are not stressing out over it in any way. But I have to admit that I have had baby fever for quite some time now! lol
Jacob is now working and should hopefully have a car by next week. He has had life kick him in the balls here and there but I think that he is handling everything with extreme patience! Even though things have been frustrating for both of us, over things we cannot really control, I'm glad that it hasn't impacted our relationship directly.
We found an amazing townhome and will be moving out of our duplex by 4/1/13 (like I need to add anything to my plate!!). I am excited to move into this amazing, bigger, more private place but like most people I despise moving! In the end, though, this is a great chance to get away from my dickwad of a downstairs neighbor and live something where we are not constantly worried about "disturbing" anyone around us! I have two and a half months to pull this all together...I can do it!!! I hope everyone is well!!
Love,
Carol
