Time: 1:55am
State of Being: fine
Song lyric in my head: lyric-less at the moment
current desire: to live in a fantasy world
where am I?: in the living room on the couch.
what's that noise?: silence. should i put on the entire Itunes collection shuffle again? sure why not. (Song 1: Jiggy What/Faint-Jay Z/Linkin Park)
So where was I? Somewhere between 2011 and 2012..
I honestly can't pin point too many changes in those two years. It's weird how all the recent years are harder to remember than the past. I guess they are still considered the present era.
In September of 2012, Russ finally proposed. It was an amazing day. I'm not sure if I wrote about it yet, but I guess I will again. It was cleaning day. Which is a rare occurrence in our household. It's not that we never clean, it's just that.. yeh i guess we never clean. I mean dishes eventually get done. Laundry is done. (in the apartment complex laundry room. ugh.) (Song 2: Time Goes By-Spice Girls) Trash is done. Occasional sweeping or what not. But an actual whole day devoted to cleaning? It's rare. That may be the only time it happened. Maybe the second time. lol. Anywho, I was doing the living room. Russ said he had some errands to do first, but he'll do the entire fridge (which was gross) and the kitchen when he gets home. Anywho, on one of his stops between errands, he brings me a Java Monster. It was awesome enough to facebook the event. LoL! I said something like, "You know it's love when he brings you a Java Monster on cleaning day."
Anywho, he said he was going out to buy stuff for dinner. He was going to cook Salmon. He needed to stop buy GameStop for something game related. Either buying a new game or exchanging others. I dunno. But he was gone for a while. But I honestly didn't realize it. (Song 3: We Can Work it Out- The Beatles) Well fast forward through the day, the apt gets clean. He cooks dinner. Salmon, rice, and spinach. We ate the the table. Which is a rare occurrence too. (Song 4: Obstacle 1-Interpool) He lit a candle. It was nice and romantic. Then at the end of the dinner, he proposed. I can't even remember the exact wording of the question. I think i was too focused on the knee and the ring. It was a happy moment. I found out later that he'd been at my dad's most of the day asking for his permission. lol! My dad loved that!
Wedding planning was fun. And stressful. Our date was set for May 18th, 2013. Our six year anniversary. In January of last year, my mom came down from GA, Meghan came down from SC, and we went dress shopping. It was my four maid of honor, Meghan, Denise, Jilly, and Lindsay. My mom came along with my good friend, Carrie. It was a great day. (Song 5: Bonus Track 1-Three Doors Down on the Away from the Sun album) The South Florida Fair just happened to be going on then so went that night. It was awesome. It was me, Russ, my mom, my step-dad Brad, Meghan, Denise, and Lindsay. GREAT DAY!
Not as great as my wedding day! Best day of my life! Of course I had a fantasy theme. Faeries, Knights, Dragons. It was awesome. The boys wore Avenger pins. lol! Russ' groomsmen were Lew, Cameron, Dennis, and Charles. Before the ceremony started I had the soundclip from Princess Bride Play. (Song 6: Slow Cheetah-Red Hot Chili Peppers) "Mawwage. Mawwage is what bwings us togetha today. Mawwage. That bwessed awangement. That dweam within a dweam." Then the wedding party walked out the All you need is love by the Beatles. It was awesome. Our first dance was to Story Book Love, the Princess Bride song. lol!
Pastor Deb from the church I grew up in married us. My family is very religious. And although I do not share the same beliefs I did as a child, I'm still spiritual. And I loved my church. It was and still is very happy and loving to all. But that's another convo for another day. My DJ's name is Adam. We met Adam while going to trivia every week at the Ale House, a sports bar. Adam was the host. While looking for a DJ, i realized that I already like Adam. We knew his personality and got along really well. So we hired him for our wedding. Since then Adam has employed me to be a DJ too. But I'll talk about that another day. lol!
The day was amazing. So many friends and family came. It was a very happy day. Everyone had fun. (Song 7: That'll be the day-The Beatles) The location was at the Shriner Hall. My dad's a shriner so we got an amazing deal for the hall. It was huge. Both the ceremony and the reception was in the same place. Just chairs had to be moved after the ceremony. It was open bar for beer. And any other alcohol purchased went straight towards the Shriners. If you're not familiar with them, you may know them as the dudes with the fezzes. (Song 8: Girl on TV-LFO) They actually help sick children in hospitals. So we told a lot of people that they were drinking for charity. And found out later that we broke the record for the most alcohol bought at any event. lol. I love my family and friends. I wish i had more time to talk to every single one of them. Some I hadn't seen for YEARS. But everything happened so fast.
We had our honeymoon at Myrtle Beach. (Song 9: Come Back to Melain White T's) My grandparents (my step-dad, Brad's parents) own a condo there. It's the go-to place for most of the family when they go on vacation. They share it with other people too so everyone signs up for times they want to use it and book it. We all leave each other notes in this guest book. It's pretty fun. We spent a week in Myrtle Beach doing touristy things. We did this awesome live action role playing called DragonQuest. We got this wand that you can wave at objects and create spells. It's all done by motion sensors, but it felt like magic. lol! There was a quest to find things and beat a bad guy. It was pretty awesome. We spent pretty much a whole day doing it. (Song 10: Seven Nation Army-White Stripes)
Myrtle Beach was awesome!
I think I'm going to leave this life snipped nutshell here. I know it's been almost a month since I updated anything. lol. But the past isn't going anywhere. I'm just missing out on documenting the present I guess. But I don't think I'm quite ready to do that until I can get in the habit of updating every day. Working on it. But I've already missed out on documenting a lot so far. lol. hence the life nutshells.
Yup getting tired. Starting to babble incoherently.
Peace!
