Shocking Random Diaries

01/26/2013

SATURDAY
26th January 2013, 1.47 PM.

No Offence, Please! Yo people. This is probably going to be short.

I've just been looking at random diaries, the Happy Birthday ones and I am so amazed to find that like, some of them have written only at least 3 entries!!! In 2009!!! WHAT???? There was even one that didn't have any entries at all!!!! o.O

Have a nice day, everyone. ^u^

RYC: I am not sure what kind of snakes I held...they were pretty small, but non-venomous. I think they may have been carpet pythons.

Than can happen either because they've left, or if they only write Friends Only entries, then you can't see them if you're not on their list.

That's quite normal on any site. Lots of people start a diary and then never write in it. They think it's a good idea at the time, but then get distracted or find another site they prefer. And as Atropos says, some people make their entries FO. Or privatise old entries. I often privatise my old entries. The system used to delete diaries that hadn't been used for 6 months, but now it doesn't, so there are loads of old abandoned diaries hanging around. If you want to read active diaries, explore those on 'recent entries', and also the people who comment them.

Wait, why would you want to privatise your old entries? I mean, if you wanted them private, why not privatise them from the start? Why wait till they're old?

Well, for me, it's the same reason that, in real life, when I talk to people, I have no particular desire for my words to be recorded forever! My entries here are generally light-hearted random thoughts of the moment, which make more sense in context than reading them way after the fact. They're not deep words to be recorded forever. Just a bit of fun to entertain people at the time, not to be trawled through by random people in years to come.

And I think in general a lot of people like to make new starts - a lot of people write about a lot of negative stuff, and when they get past that phase in their life, they would rather privatise it.

You might find you feel the same in a year or two. Especially as you're so young - you might find you've changed a lot and you just want people to see your present, more mature self, rather than the old 12-year-old self! Or maybe you won't feel that way. Everyone's different. You'll have to wait and see how you feel.

I don't want to privatise my entries 'cause well...I sort of want to remember how I was like when I was young. So I could sort of...relish the memories, maybe? *Shrugs* That, and because I'm too lazy to privatise all those old entries.

Well, I like looking back on my old entries too, which is why I privatise them rather than delete them. If they're private you can still see them yourself. You can also privatise the whole lot all at once, by one click, so it doesn't take a lot of effort!
