The Annoying Ingrown Toenail

The Annoying Ingrown Toenail
SUNDAY
3rd November 2013, 9.12 PM.

Ever had an ingrown toenail? Here's a word of advice: Never get one. Why? It's because ingrown toenails suck on ice. How do I know that? I know because I have one.

Argh! It hurts even if I accidentaly snub it on anything! It doesn't actually bother me much but it sucks if my friends and I are messing around with a football (okay, that was before the teachers decided that the Games period would only last for a few days. Sports isn't important in my school. ). I can only kick it hard with my right foot, then. Another thing is that it's disgusting. Pus (only tiny amounts, though) and blood comes out of it sometimes. It bled just now. Only a little, though. My father says that I'd better go and try and pull the part of the nail that's growing into the meat out. My mom just told me to put some ointment on it so as to soften the skin (yeah, right, like that would help). My brain tells me to pull the nail right out...but I don't know how to do that. I mean, the nail on my smallest toe has come out before (on it's own 'cause for some reason, it became loose) and it didn't hurt as I was twirling around on our old hairy carpet (I was...I don't know, ten? Nine?) and one of the hairs caught on it and pulled it out (and it didn't hurt). The bad news? I couldn't find it and keep it (I like to collect stuff that my mom calls "junk").

This is my big toe. How the heck am I supposed to pull out my big toe?! It's probably gonna hurt if I do that, but if I see a doctor, he (she?) will probaby be able to inject some of that numbing stuff (anaesthetic?) into my toe and pull out the nail. Unfortunately, my mom says it's too expensive. Why do we have to see a doctor for such a small thing? Uh, how about the fact that it hurts?

My mom does have a point, though. It's no big deal and I'm not gonna make a fuss over it.

It's still annoying, though.

And disgusting.

And I broke the rules of grammar by starting a sentence with a connector.

And I did it again.

Okay, now stop writing (oh shoot, this is a short entry. Eh, whatever, lol.)

Miss Dreamer signing out!

Hope you had an awesome day, everyone.

There's a degree of infection risk also, by doing something like that on your own. While the injection itself may hurt, it probably won't hurt as bad as pulling your own toenail out =\

A doctor would simply cut away the region of nail that's stuck in your skin and then tell you that it will most likely happen again. Try soaking your foot regularly with warm salt water and avoid putting on a sock or a shoe when you can.
