Grown Ups written by Adam Sandler, Fred Wolf - 9/10
|
I haven't seen this, but I actually heard that it was really good for an Adam Sandler movie. I like the concept, although the commercial seemed to go for some of the over-used gags -- Kevin James trying the rope swing and hitting himself, Rob Schneider making out with the old lady -- but otherwise I think it looks good!
Glad to hear you liked it, and the message sounds worthwhile.

RYC: Sweet. It's definitely LONG, I know. I've spent the better part of 3 years compiling that stupid thing in small pieces. I'll get an idea for a question and just stick it in there...

RYC: Oh gosh, that would be great if they did an all-rorschach movie. He has a very full, rich character that they could really develop well.

Oh yes, I loved Rorschach and Comedian.
I thought the romance between Nite Owl and Silk Spectre was so awkward. I had to fast forward over those parts.
I think your review is pretty accurate. There was less action than there could have been for such a long movie.

Kutless is ok, I LOVE KJ-52 though. I'm not real big on the rap stuff but there are a few that I dig...KJ-52, Toby Mac is amazing, and I REALLLLLLLLY dig Manafest a lot now.
But yeah, I seen Disciple and Rez Band together back in the day when they(Disciple) was a newer band and was hooked.

Thousand Foot Krutch are awesome. Not a big fan of Kings Of Leon really but they're not horrible either. Have you ever heard of a band named Disciple? They're one of my biggest influences musically. Another really big influence is a older band named Tourniquet.

RYC: There's 4 people total in the band. And yeah, I've played off and on with these same guys since back in '94. We used to have another band named Acidmonky.
There are a TON of places here where I live that have live bands. Truth be told, not sure I even want to get back into that racket. I kind of enjoy just rocking out in the garage. I can do whatever suits my fancy there and don't have to worry about the "politics" that comes with working with other bands and bar owners.

RYC: Hey, thank you for the honest opinions. Basically, it's Me singing and playing most of the bass on it. I also wrote all of the songs except for the Electric Funeral song which is an old Black Sabbath song that we added some power to. As for the band, it's a few friends that are playing the instruments. We just play for the love of it. We're sort of deciding if we actually want to take it public or just kick it in the garage like we do now.

RYC: Well, people assume it has to do with being suicidal. And it doesn't actually cause infections or illness if you're careful about washing it.

Yeah, it is really long.
And it can get confusing, I agree. I found that the second time around I understood much more of it.
Hopefully you like it when you get to the end, but we'll see.

RYC: I can understand that. It's all good. I love all kinds of music so I listen to just about everything. I just dug them cuz they have that Pantera style. That, and the singer looks TOTALLY different than most metal singers. LOL He looks like a giant Grizzley Bear.
