I've never been to any really strange weddings unless you count my then best friend's small town iowa huge catholic wedding with like five attendants for the bride and five for the groom and carrying the groom to all the bars in town after the wedding...a tradition there...buying him drinks...and the bride telling me in the bathroom at that wedding that she had planned for years, that she had driven to south dakota just that week to cheat on the groom. (This was when we were early 20s.) So yeah, weird wedding after all I guess.

I haven't seen Glee...sounds like my teenagers would find it amusing but I might be uncomfortable watching it with them. I know they know about all that stuff though, they heard it at school or from us.

 I agree with Simply Mia. Tell them that if you have to keep cleaning up after them, you're going to start charging them rent... then stick to it. You might want to charge them anyway. When I turned 18, I had to pay $100 a month to my parents.

If not, I wonder if asking for a bit of $ would snap them into keeping their things picked up?

You've really been to some hellatiously freaky weddings. I've not been to many in my life, but all the ones I have seemed to go off without a hitch. The only "wedding" episodes I've ever had were being asked to be in weddings, and then when I told the bride's mother I couldn't afford the dress (she was my best friend) I was not invited to the wedding or even the shower. The other wedding was for a cousin-in-law I'd never met. The granddaughter of my grandpa's second wife, who I'd also never met. I skipped out on the shower because I didn't know anyone there and told them my godmother was coming into town and hadn't seen her in years so wanted to spend time with her. I was promptly asked to leave that wedding party and wedding too.

RYC: Yep, Family Circle and Woman's Day are still around and still both very big in circulation. I think I also picked up Oprah's "O Magazine" and I can't remember what the fourth one was.

 Definately a vacation home - on a lake - or on a little piece of land with a brook near it. My bil has a couple of acres near a stream that flows under a bridge - we go fishing and camping there, but a building can't be put on it because it is too close to the water.

Those are some crazy stories. What is it with the In-Laws? Lol
I've been to one where the brides veil almost went up in flames(too many candles around her head), one where the police had to called to during the reception(of which my friend & I hid under a table) and one where the Grooms dad got so drunk that he creeped me out when he said "You look niiiiche" and licked his lips. While, I might add...standing next to his Wife & Daughter.

Gosh!! I've only been to three weddings... one when I was 9 that was totally normal, then both of my parent's weddings... again both normal. *sigh* I need some crazy friends!

Do you remember the show "Soap"? I remember begging my Mom to let me stay up and just watch it ONCE. I couldn't understand how my older sister could, but not me.
I sometimes wonder that once a show become Popular if some parents just assume it is suitable for children of every age. Maybe they figure that it is already talked about a school so what is the harm.
I am not sure.
Now as these people who are complaining about the pictures...I agree with you, They are ADULTS paying teenagers. I do not think they had any idea a 9 year old would be looking at the GQ.
