Coping with another tough day after losing Mum

I don't know from personal experience as of yet, but I imagine its very hard to lose a parent, especially one you're very close with. My grandparents had a heavy hand in raising me and my brothers growing up and when they passed, it felt like a loss of a parent and not a grandparent. Even though I am very close with my mother, my grandparents stepped in and helped her when my father left. I still cry after 21 years of losing grandma and 17 years of losing poppy. It never really goes away, but it doesn't linger all the time either. It gets easier to move on but I always think about them and enjoy the good memories. Memories is how we keep them alive.

Why I joined Bloop

That’s a good reason to write to get your feelings out

Sorry for the loss of your mother how long ago did she pass away? I just lost a very close friend of mine 3 weeks ago due to a tragic accident. I had written about it on here. My friend I lost was named Mike and he suddenly died 2 weeks after his 62nd birthday.

Weightloss

Starting the routine is always the hardest, so hopefully the most difficult bit is over. I was stunned by how much just walking more helped me lose weight too.

That's awesome, Mark!

Hahahaha I love that we're all zombied up.

Singleness is loneliness. Good to have company.

Oh, and, I'm glad you're getting yourself out there doing things. Sometimes doing something differently can do a lot. I need to shake things up myself!

Have you considered a dating app? I can't discourage you from dating co-workers since I did and married him, too lol Sounds like she does fancy you though, I could be wrong.

Yeah. I admit to being part of that.

But the idea that Big Zuck has AI giving out bans for comments said on posts 4+ years ago, and then removes comments as being "Hate Speech"...when it's actually a proper name of a business (these things happened)... just doesn't sit right with me.

As I was thinking about what other options there were...I remembered that I loved Bloop (before the crash). I loved interacting with my friends here. I took most of them to MySpace and then Facebook.

FB is so driven by Memes and Ads and the infighting.... it's a cesspool.

I realized that when we were on Bloop before...I didn't know my friends political views.

I'm hoping to get back to the peace and simplicity of friends sharing random thoughts...of silly but serious restaurant reviews. Of just being... friends.

I have looked at the 5 posts that exist from my old account. Even those are HAPPY...it was a different time. They hurt because of what I am going through and the changes that took place since 2009.

I definitely want/need to find the peace that girl had.

It's awesome, Mark! Lowestoft looks beautiful! How far is it from Oxford?

Sleeping Issues

RYC: Noooo....I don't like the subtle hints though...I just want to KNOW!

Sleeping Issues

RYC: Yeah I know a lot of places here are already pre-booking for January when the shutdown ends but that's the thing...there is no actual date set for when this lockdown ends. The government said it would be a minimum of 4 weeks and I would assume that would be from the 13th as that's when we are required to shutdown. I don't want to pre-book clients though until I have an actual date confirmed because then I have to go cancel everyone again should the lockdown be longer than 4 weeks. In the spring they were a bit wishy-washy about the actual re-open date and there were lots of places that started booking clients for the end of May or beginning of June and then they had to cancel them all because we were told June 19th would be the earliest we could open. Then the week before, the government decided things were good and we could go ahead and start opening on the 12th instead. I don't want to go through that hassle again, so I'm just going to wait until they give us an actual date.

Have you tried melatonin? It might help you.

you are a good son, Mark. You have a kind heart. It must be hard to be torn between the two of them when they both need you at the same time. I hope he is feeling better tomorrow!

80% currently. Redundancy will be 3 weeks of wage for me, as I have had 3.8 years of continuous employment. So fingers crossed they don't go that route!
