1 min max heart rate on, 1 min off for 15-20 min, yields as much as 30 minutes of steady exercise...for cardiovascular and muscle fitness.
There is a thing in crossfit called "tabata". Where you do 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off-- for 2 min (8 rounds). You work HARD for those 20 seconds. and you rest HARD for those 10 seconds
typically you do 1 exercise (say, situps). So you start and count as many situps as you can do for 20 seconds. 10 seconds of rest. rinse and repeat.
The lowest number of situps = your number.
So if you start out being able to do 15-- but your last one is only 10, then your total = 10.
