achievement unlocked (weight loss adventures- with pics)

04/05/2012

2000: 12 years ago I just finished drum corp and I was at 150lbs and in the best shape of my (at the time) life. I was doing 50+ pushups a day, waking up and marching around a field for countless hours and going to bed on buses, gym floors, taking ice-cold showers and barely eating anything that was edible/legally considered "food". I also remember eating a LOT of garlic (to try to spice up the cardboard that they passed off as food). I was also suuuuuper tan and lean. I couldn't lift a lot, though.
I was 17.

2002: 10 years ago I was in college at Berklee. I definitely got the "freshmen 10" or whatever, but not much more than that. The food was ok, the city was even better. I walked everywhere! I remember walking to MIT across the SMOOT bridge (funny story on how that got it's name) in Jan in flip-flops. That was the first time I thought "I'm kinda dumb for not putting on shoes". In Feb I (finally) learned how to swallow pills. I weighed 165. I was 19.

2004: 8 years ago I was living in Madison, Wisconsin. I just finished an unpaid internship working at Sony (fuckers) where all I did was eat ramen and cream cheese and saltines. (I wish I was joking). I did start eating different/new foods, but I could barely afford anything. In Madison, (my first REAL PAYING JOB!) I ate a LOT of mid-west food. (fried cheese, brats, etc). I also started dating Jim. I also started working stupid crunch.
I weighed 175-180
I was 21.

2005: 7 years ago- I remember wrestling with Jim in bed one time and I threw him off the bed (no small feat) and he grabbed onto my stomach fat.
I weighed 195.
I was 22.

2006: 6 years ago. I was still living in Madison, about to make the move to Seattle. I was depressed, in the worst shape of my life. I bought a house (worst mistake of my life), I ballooned to 225.
I was 23.
(I can't find this picture.... The only one I remember having is of Jim and me outside my parent's house. It's horrendous. Like 2 beached whales.)

2007: 5 years ago Jim and I did the "big breakup" where I decided to take a job in Canada. I also got in a car accident, moved to Austin for a bit and then up to Alberta to start my hellish job.

2008: 4 years ago- I started losing weight. (thank god). Canada's food tasted like cardboard, but it was "healthier" or something. Less HFCS. I also didn't eat a lot because I was working too damn much. (90 hour weeks for 9 months.)
Dear Dragon Age: I hate you.

25 yrs old

2009: 3 years ago. Living in Houston/Seattle. (HOW I MISS YOU HOUSTON!!!) I remember eating tex mex ALL THE EFFIN TIME. I also started drinking beer during this year. (glorious delicious beer).
I was 200(ish)
26 years old

2010: 2 years ago. Seattle/Traveling. Fable 3 crunch = hell.
198
27 yrs old.

2011: a year ago. Started dating this jabroni who challenged me to stop eating processed sugar. This was the hardest and best thing I've ever done in my life. Instantly dropped 15 lbs...

Joined crossfit, started eating paleo, feel great, life changed, etcetc.
Today, I went on the scale and it read 166.7.

TLR:
I am 29 and I'm the lightest I've been in almost a decade.

I think you've always looked great. But if you were strong before, now you're like Bionic Woman strong. You should be a bodyguard or something!

weird.

re: processed sugar: no processed bread (anything in a bag/bought from the grocery). Read all labels. Cut anything sweet.
the moodiness and shakes will stop after day 4.
weight-loss starts on day 5.
waking up before alarm happens on day 6.
happiness to your new life happens on day 7.

LN, how tall are you?

[ThatDarnMirandaStar|0 likes] [|reply]

5'8 (1/4)

TALLER THAN EVERY BLOOPER I'VE MET SO FAR!

(everyone here is short)

I should note that that 1/4inch is VERY important to me, thankyouverymuch!

it's kinda like asking a guy how big his dick is and he says "blahblahinches AND 1/4!"

it's important.

LOL I think a majority of bloop is under 5'6". Just saying!

lol, I completely understand...I'm 5'1 and a half. And I claim that half proudly. I can tell your tall. Cause your 166 looks AMAZING...my 166 had me still looking like an oompa loompa. HELL, my 139 that I weighed this morning still has me looking like an oompa loompa.

You look so amazing! I'd love to cut out ALL processed sugars but it's just not possible right now. I have a ton of excuses but the main one is that it costs too much to eat "extraordinarily healthy" for 5-6 people every night. *sigh* maybe when Devon and I move out of this house.

If I had to cook for other people (and do it on my own budget) it would be nearly impossible. I remember cooking things with Clementi and we just ate a shit-ton of veggies and meat. We grilled out A LOT. But if you have kids to feed- this isn't going to be easy.

Is there a farmer's market near you that is cheaper to shop at than a grocery?
