City Sports is having a sale on Vibrams. You can get the ones that I have for 48$! (a steal, considering i spent 110$ on them a year ago!)
For all those who don't know, I've never been a runner. HATED running. I blame Nike on this fact because their shoes taught us to run "heel-toe", as opposed to on the balls of our feet.
When I ran before I would always have shin-splints and knee issues. My back would hurt after a while---and I over-all hated running.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't LOVE running now, but it's easier to do than hauling a bike everywhere. It's also a quicker/more efficient workout. (my butt has also significantly decreased in size!)
so what changed? I got these shoes.
What I've noticed in the past year:
1) my posture is better
2) I'm taller..... (this shocked the hell outta me, but when I see the people I used to hang out with when I lived here last time-- I'm definitely taller than them. This could be because of the chiropractic stuff, or because I'm using a standing desk----but I'll take it!)
3) no more shin-splints....ever.
4) I can run long distances without feeling like i'm going to die/got hit by a truck (minus that gladiator run where I -DID- get hit by heavy objects......"for fun"
anyway. highly recommend them. they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. |
