Not My Girl, But Why Do I Get The Drama!

04/24/2011

I am sensing trouble.  The girl who works for me seems to be trying to get my attention and not in a good way.

First of all, I must say that I have a gift and a disability in terms of social intelligence.  My social disability is in small talk, making others feel comfortable, and things like that.  However, I have this gift understanding people and somehow seeing people's inner intentions.  It bewildered some friends of mine in the past that they almost thought that I was psychic sometimes.

With that said, this gift of mine is allowing me to detect that this girl who works for me (let's call her Lily here) is trying to create drama to:  (a) Get my attention, (b) Get with me, or (c) All of the above.

She has revealed some "evidence" to me without knowing that I have this gift.  Then she's trying making seem like the ex-boyfriend who she's broken up with is trying to get back with her.  She just called me up a few minutes ago saying that he's trying to get back together with her.

However, the "evidence" tell a completely different story from the one she is telling me.

I really don't need this.  I got too much to deal with already.  She, working for me, is supposed to take some load of work from me, not create problems for me.

She needs to stop seeing me as a potential mate for her.  This is not professional.  Although I have looked at her and her young tight body lustfully in the past, I've never acted on it.  I've always acted professionally.  However, she's always acted like I am a potential boyfriend for her.  You know how young girls act in front of guys in trying to get guy to pursue the girl.

I am hoping that this does not go on.  Especially how she took it to a new level today in fabricating (or exaggerating) this drama to me.  This can't go on.  Otherwise, I may have to let her go.

It used to be that only girls who become my girlfriend can end up to be trouble.  In the past five years, somehow (I don't know how) I can still invite trouble from a girl who isn't even my girlfriend.  (This also happened back in 2006.)

How is it that I don't have the benefit of having the girlfriend, yet I can still have the trouble of the problematic girl?  This is crazy I tell you!

This is where it would be handy for you to get some tips from those who are gifted in the small talk/interpersonal skills/putting people at ease department, to find some ways of communicating clearly but kindly to her that you are not interested and to establish some boundaries. Hoping it doesn't go on won't do anything. And firing her is a bit of an extreme reaction.

Yes, I'll probably take up your advice and try that first (talking with her straightforwardly and clearly set some boundaries. I will have to really prepare what to say.

Thanks.

It was just a bunch of hippies living together growing organic veggies. Everybody had a right to an opinion and everyone would listen. It was a self-sustaining farm and people were very accepting there. I miss being able to go home and know that whatever I said wouldn't misconstrued as something ridiculous and that I would be taken seriously.
