i lost my grandma to breast cancer abt 12yrs ago. She was an amazingly strong, positive, loving woman & i miss her to this day. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be the woman i am today. Even on her bad days she had a smile & a joke to share with me & the family. I love my grandma linn, foever & always

One of my mom's best friends is Debbie. I've known her my whole life, and she is one of the sweetest people ever. We were so worried for her when she was diagnosed last year, but she had her surgery and they were able to get rid of all the cancer with no chemo!

She and my mom walked together in a Breast Cancer Awareness run this morning. We're so glad that while she went through a very tough time, Debbie had such awesome doctors and can now call herself a cancer survivor. ♥

my Mum died of breast cancer when I was 9, in 1982. Thats why Im a nurse.
will there be a donation box or any education links on the front page? I think simply turning pink isnt enough to honour them, that they would all want us to be more proactive in not letting it happen anymore..

I love it!!!!! Thank you Steve. It looks awesome and it's for such a good cause. I personally don't know anyone who's had breast cancer but I know it's out there and affecting so many people. Hopefully, as time goes on, it will get easier to treat and cure. xx

My aunt died of breast cancer about 13 years ago. She had it, went into remission and it came back after two years.

I think it's great that you took the time to do this. 1 out of every 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. This means that ALL OF US at some point will know someone affected. Every bit of awareness helps all those organizations out there that support such wonderful causes like this one.
I work with breast cancer (and other types of cancer) patients and their families, delineating who, if anyone in the family, may be a candidate for genetic testing. Undergoing genetic testing can save lives and prevent cancer from even occurring, as we have prophylactic options and increased screening. I gain so much from my patients... they are the strongest, most inspiring people I have ever met. Each individual I come into contact with through my career and in life who has struggled and fought with cancer has enhanced my life in some way. I love what I do and I'm proud of anyone and anything who tries in any way to increase awareness. We are getting closer and closer to cures for cancer every day. Many scientists believe we may find one in the next 5 years. Let's hope so!

No, it's not quite that high. Population risk is 10-12%. Hereditary risk is much higher though.

My Mother-in-Law was a breast cancer survivor, unfortunately it was lung cancer that eventually became too much for her. I miss her every day, even though she drove me INSANE when she was alive! lol

I think it'd be a fabulous idea if you posted some education and maybe a donation link!

My Grandmother and her Twin Sister on my father's side both passed away from breast cancer. This is the number one cause that I have supported for most of my adult life.

Everyone has to go through her monthly exam and then annual exam with their physician this is not something you look forward to but it is the one thing that you should never SKIP.

Girls remember to do your self breast exam once a month it only takes seconds.

my mom is a 2 time breast cancer survivor. I lost my aunt Barbara (my mom's younger sister) to breast cancer in 2008. For the first time on Oct. 13 - 15th I became a camp counselor at a camp called Camp Bluebird for adult cancer patients and survivors. It was the greatest thing I have ever experienced.

My mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor. She had a mastectomy during Christmas of 2006. Cancer free ever since.

I love the fact that you guys did this. My fiance signed me in one night and I got really excited when I saw that it was pink for breast cancer awareness. Awesome!!

I dont know anyone effected my Breast Cancer (Ive known many women that had lumps removed but thats it) but my dad died of Prostate Cancer and the same amount of men are effected from Prostate Cancer as women are with Breast Cancer. I wish there was more awareness for it like with Breast Cancer though..I addressed those concerns in my latest entry.

I agree - cancer is cancer no matter what part of the body it strikes. Just like a stroke is a stroke, no matter what part of the brain it strikes. I don't know anyone who's had breast cancer, but I know plenty of people who've had other kinds of cancer - skin cancer, leukemia, throat cancer, testicular cancer, etc.

My grandma had breast cancer 3 times. The last time it spread to both of her lungs. We found that out 2 weeks before she passed away in 2007. I have done the Komen Race for the Cure every year since then(the first year--07--I was almost 30 weeks pregnant).
