Yes, I WAS the one who turned you into HR for all those "girly magazines" you had lying around all over your department. I'm glad I did it. And if I ever see that kind of thing back there again, I'll do it again. I'll do it 100x if necessary.
Awe, you commenters have to look at the broader perspective here: How quick would she (assuming that 'she' is a she) have been reported by all the guys if she brought in a couple Play Girls? They tend to not find it as funny when a girl does it, and they'll be the FIRST to report it. So why should they be allowed to have all the 'inappropriate' fun?
As someone who has worked in a place where sexism and sexual harassment was rampent (sp?) I will be the first to say you need to pick your battles wisely when it comes to this kind of thing...
IF it was making you and others truly uncomf at the work place then you have every right and ought to report it. But if it was something that you could of over looked that posed no true physical or emotional harm then it should of been left alone. It just all depends on if it was just you that was bothered by it or if all the women were and if he'd ever been asked by any of you to please stop the behavior
u'd prolly faint if u worked at my old job!! Everyone was always hooking up with everyone. Everyone would make sexual gestures to everyone else. My ex-manager told my friend vanessa that if she wanted $1's for her registure, she bettter start dancing for them!
GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Someone needs to take a stand and do the RIGHT thing. Some things do not belong in the work place and if you let one idiot get away with it then you are just opening the door for more (and possiably worse) behavior. Kudos to you.
i'm glad you turned them in. they shouldn't be looking at that stuff at work. there is a time and place for that and the work place is not one of them.
