Not even sure anymore...

02/27/2010

begin.

Well, since Wednesday we haven't texted.

Actually, on Thursday he asked what I was doing at the time, and I was doing behind the wheel. Then he texted something flirty back that I didn't respond to. An hour later I got a duplicate of it and ignored that too.

I know he was in an accident. I'm not upset at all about him missing the "date" thing. However, I did think about what my opinion of a relationship at a young age was. Personally, I want it to be at least somewhat meaningful. I'm not going to settle for something just because "something is better than nothing." Unlike my peers, I don't feel a NEED to have a boyfriend. So, I thought about him and me, and I decided that I was too in-the-moment and really only wanted the title "boyfriend."

In addition, he and I don't really match on a lot of things. We have separate interests, mine being academic and his being ...hair. I like being a smart guy and I like smart guys, but he's fairly average. (Just read that text from last entry! I pride in my lack of txtspk.)

He is extremely flirty over texts. Like, unbearably so. I know that's picky, but I MET him a week ago. He was calling me "baby". That's a no-no.

So maybe I'm a picky bastard, but so far I'm not unhappy we aren't talking anymore. I know I'll have to deal with a "why don't we talk anymore?" text soon enough, but I think instead of wondering what I'm going to say, I'm just gonna get drunk off my ass tomorrow.

end.

I second shawnel's sentiments. Be proud of yourself for having high standards; never settle for less.

Being picky is GOOD. It means that you know what you're looking for, and there is nothing wrong with that - especially if you want a meaningful relationship. You shouldn't have to settle.
Have fun getting drunk, but don't do anything *too* stupid or crazy. However, I doubt you will (do anything stupid, that is).

Ok, I've read the last few entries. He sounds like a nice guy. You owe it to him to be honest and just tell him that things are moving too fast for you and that you're not sure if you even want a relationship. Especially as he's been in a car wreck and is probably still feeling like crap after that. You would save the both of you a lot of grief.
