When I Am Old, I Shall Wear Midnight

My Poor Kitty

06/18/2010

I am not exactly sure what to do with my cat. She used to be an indoor/outdoor cat for years, and then about two years ago, she all of a sudden decided that she was more of an indoor cat. She'd go out of the cat flat, stay out for about thirty minutes, longer if it was sunny, and then come back inside, demanding to be paid attention by one of us.

But now she's done a complete one eighty.

She whines constantly at the back door (there is no longer a cat flat as an entire new back door was put in during the refurishment) and when I let out... I can't get her back in for love or money. I try to tease her in, with food and my promise of a lap, but she won't. She hides in the bushes and refuses to come back in.

I actually had to chase her in tonight, as otherwise she would have been out all night. I need to go to bed (it's midnight) and no one would be up until about seven the next day. It actually happened two nights ago and she's still forgiving me for that.

I've got a really bad feeling that's she getting ready for the -long goodbye-. Her sister did that a couple of years ago. Just went out one night and never returned. I know that this was probably because she knew she was going to die and though she never showed signs...

But Pep is. She's done an one hundred eighty spin of her usual personality and that's a way to know... Oh please, I can't lose her. Not now.

In slight tears,

Kya

*random* I'm so so sorry =( I cant imagine losing another one of my cats, it's really hard, they're apart of our families and it's like losing a family member. I hope her change in personality isn't the sign you think it is. =(

Thank you for your kind words. I hope she's all right, as now she won't leave me alone and insists on being with me at every available point. She doesn't want to go out any more.

Kya

take her to the vet for a checkup? behavior changes can definitely signal problems. It might not be time for the -long goodbye- yet..
