I appreciate you sharing more of that information with me about you and your wife’s sex life. I can understand where you're coming from, and I know that your food addiction is your main concern. I do want you to understand that, based on what you've said, there is a correlation between these two, however let's just work on the food addiction at this point, and we will come back and address The sex problems later if you choose that.

 

So, having said that, let's use the three circles that I described, in the same manner, to list your food habits. Again, the inner circle being the things that you absolutely want to stop doing, the middle circle are areas of caution for you, and the outer circle being the healthy habits that you need to do in order to get past this. List these out and tell me what your choices would be.

 

I am checking in to see how your eating plan is coming along. Many times when we find ourselves in a place like this, we have a really large imbalance in life. So I wanted to send you this worksheet to help you put the areas of your life in a visual form for yourself. I think this is a good exercise for seeing our reality.

The inner circle, I absolutely want to stop snacking. I should only be eating four times a day. The middle circle, I would like to make sure that when I do eat my four meals a day that I am using portion control and not over eating. And the The outer circle, I need to start exercising. Currently I am generally eating most of the time either munching on pretzels or some snack. I am satisfied with my career, physical environment and finances. I am moderately satisfied with my personal growth and family/friends. I want to get involved in some fun and recreation and I am very dissatisfied with my health.

 

 


 

Are there some recreational things you have done in the past that you enjoyed? It is summer time, so it is always good to get out and about. Have you ever heard of meetup.com? There are groups that do all sorts of activities. I personally have been on hikes and wine tastings with groups from the site. They are from all over the country...maybe the world.

 


 

I love photography. And if I lost some weight I would love to do some type of martial arts or self-defense training. Ever since we adopted a baby it has been very hard for me to get out and do anything other than work. All of my free time gets absorbed by playing with my son. Before my son was born, I belong to a couple of groups that went out for photography. But I have not been able to do that in the last two years. And I'm not sure how to find time to do that or yoga or martial arts when all the weekends are spent with the family.
