Don't get excited on me! lol. Tomorrow is the last day of school. I am so flippin' excited. I've gotten extremely hyper in the last 3 hours. I am currently in my period part of the school day where I intern as a secretary. Another caller came off as rude; But I took some advice and was more professional then usual. She got upset because her child needed to do credit recovery. She said "I cannot believe this, my child has been working all year. You can't do anything? I swear. You secretary's are so lazy!"
And I replyed with; "Ma'am, I understand where your coming from; and I'd love to help you. But, right now; I don't know the instructions or procedure to helping your child with credit recovery. I don't have any access whatsoever to your child's report or record so I, therefore; cannot do a thing. HOWEVER, I can transfer you to our counsler who is the right person for this situation. I apologize if I was in any way an inconvience to you, I am an intern and am relativley new to the job."
Which apparently calmed her down and she replyed nicely;
"Oh, I apologize. I cannot believe myself. You know, I respect you for telling me this. Sometimes I can cut people of and not let them say what they need to say. You have a wonderful day, and yes; Please transfer me to the counselor."
Maybe the advise you gave me helped, thank you. But, you didn't have to be rude about it doll. <3 |
