So the major news of the week: I got that job!

Starting January 27, I'm going to start teaching drama two days a week after school. Tuesdays at one school, and Thursdays at another. woo-hoo! I'm SO excited! I went over the curriculum with the guy who owns the company, and it's awesome! It's a 12-15 week course, and at the end of it, there's going to be a performance for the parents. One class is going to be working on plays from around the world, and the other one is going to working on fractured fairy tales. I am SO excited! I need some theatre in my life!

The classes are from about 4-5, so I changed my availability at wal-mart last night. Another bright side to this is that on those two days, I don't have to work in the pharmacy! I'll be off by 5ish. And be home in the evening. Instead of getting off at 9 every night. I'll have time to work on lesson plans. I'll have time to write my novel. I'll have just a little bit more of my sanity. And theatre will be back in my life again. It's like a hole in my life will be filled. I miss the stage so much. I have my degree in theatre. I went back to school to get my teaching certificate in theatre. This is amazing. Everything happens for a reason.

Anywho, school started on Tuesday. I have my lesson plans up until the end of February. I'm determined to be an amazing teacher this semester. I still question myself every day. I mean teaching Science isn't the easiest thing ever. I feel like I'm learning at the same time they are. lol. One of my students has left the school to go elsewhere, and while I'm happy for her, she was my biggest participator in class. So now when I ask a question, it's like crickets took over the classroom.

I honestly feel like a bad teacher all the time. I don't think the Science thing helps, either. lol. But none of my kids got below a C last semester. That has to say something. But unfortunately, it means I'm just "not challenging them enough." So who knows.

OH! back to the drama program. The guy is interested in doing a summer camp. And it's Monday through Friday FULL TIME! how awesome is that! And they want to put on a production at the end of summer. So I don't have to worry about being job-less at the end of the school year.

One step closer to quitting wal-mart.

He asked me if I'm willing to work at more schools if the opportunity comes up. Of course I am. I just have to let my wal-mart know as soon as possible. So if I can start working more at more schools, it may actually be enough to quit. And maybe I can start DJing more at bars. Hosting Bingo or Trivia. Kelly texted me yesterday asking if I can fill in for someone to host trivia last night. I couldn't, because I was working in the stupid pharmbox.

OH! So on monday we had a floating pharmacist named Martha. Martha got under my skin so much. She was sitting there texting on her phone while the phones were ringing and stuff was getting piled up. AND while I was filling, I warned her that I had to scan the box of birth controls, not the package, because the NDC numbers were acting wonky. (NDC is the National Drug Code that is attached to every medicine. That number appears on their screen when they check what we filled. Sometimes with birth controls we have to scan the box, not the package. Both annoyingly have different NDCs, so she might see a different number on her screen). She said "wonky? What is wonky??" And she said 'wonky' with a tone like it was the stupidest word she's ever heard. I said "you know, wonky. like off, weird." "so it's not working?" "No it's working. it's just.. wonky." And she seemed to have a fit saying she's never head that word before. So, being the snarky person I am, I googled it and read the definition to her. She went off again. "I don't hang out with people that say wonky, so I have no use to know that word." I was just explaining to her the history of the word and why it is commonly used now amongst a certain demographic of people. And she was like "I don't need to know this! Why do I need to know this? No one I know uses that word, so I don't need to know what it means!" At first, I thought I was just explaining it to her, but she took it the wrong way and just went off on me. About the word, wonky. Wonky headed woman! She asked why she needed to know, and I said that it's good to know things like this and be aware of how other people talk and their culture. For some reason that just irked her more. "I don't hang out with anyone who uses that word! I don't need to know what it means!" woh! I SO wanted to say "and that is called ignorance.." but I didn't. I was good. But wonky is one of my favorite words ever. I use it pretty much every day. I took her anti-wonky-ness personally. lol

Monday sucked anyway. I left the pharmbox crying in the car. I got there at 5. Of course, nothing was done. I was stuck at the register for two hours being screamed at by people wondering why their stuff wasn't ready. And I couldn't get back there to fill anything. And Martha barely did anything to help. I got so berated by customers calling me lazy, and telling me I wasn't doing anything to help them. But the line was constantly at least 15 people deep. I looked up to the drop off window, and Eliza constantly had a long line too. No one could fill ANYTHING. and Martha was sitting there on her phone texting while the phone was ringing.

I can't wait until Janet comes back. Janet's our pharmacy manager who left for maternity leave in September. She was supposed to come back a couple weeks ago, but hurt her back, and now she's gone again for a couple months. *sigh* I'm over all these floaters. (floaters are fill-in pharmacists) Ram has been filling in as pharmacy manager, and he's over that. lol. Too much responsibility. We got a new district manager a couple months ago, who's a whip cracker. He has all these meaningless tasks and so much paper work. It's insane. We barely have enough time to do our regular jobs, let alone what Robert wants us to do.

I need out of the pharm.

Anywho, I go in at 5 today. And of course 11-3 at school.

I can't wait to start teaching drama!!

peace!

Martha sounds like an ignorant bitch, wow. Your explanation of the whole thing just makes me want to slap her. lol
