Mcdonalds

10/14/2010

I'm anticipating an illness coming on sometime in the next couple of days. I just ordered a grand angus meal (threw the drink out coz last time I was in there, the coke was disgusting). So anyway, I walked myself back home and bogged in

Only thing is that about half way through, I noticed a taste and smell that was very similar to a pie that I ate last year which unfortunately made me very sick for a long time, Ok so maybe not a long, long time but about a week. Stop reading now if you don't want TMI coz I'm about to get really graphic....

First thing I noticed was that I felt fatigued and really weak. My skin was extremely sensitive to touch.. (it was like my entire body felt burnt). Within just a couple of hours after noticing this, My temperature went up.. In fact, in went right up to 40 degrees (104 FH). My partner was on the verge of taking me to hospital but I managed to cool down only slightly with the fan on me and a couple of cold showers. Those however weren't as effective as eating icy poles. Eating icy poles took the temp down to about 37.8 degrees (100 FH). So I had to keep eating them just to avoid landing myself in hospital with hyperthermia. I was so cold... I was freezing my ass off, shaking and wrapping myself up in the thickest blanket I could find (which didn't warm me up! Thanks fever!) This made my partner get upset with me and forced me to make myself as cold as possible.

I have to add, during this whole thing I was barely coherent. I was -aww man what's the word?- It starts with the letter 'D'... Oh.. Lol, dillusional. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING just felt like a really bad dream and my partner did everything he could to force me not to sleep. If I had of slept, I probably wouldn't have woken up. (that might be an over-exaggeration lol but it was better to be safe than sorry coz you know... it COULD happen )

I wasn't sick. By that I mean I wasn't actually vomiting. Execpt for when I ate the pie. (I doused it in tomato sauce which disguised the off meat)... When I realised.... I went straight to the bathroom and threw it up, as much as I could.

However....

The 2nd or 3rd day of having the chills, I started to get abdominal pain. Not in the same place I normally do whenever I get my period. Nope, this was higher. About where my belly button is, and it wasn't a cramp. It was more like someone twisting a sheraded knife in and out of me or worse yet.. sawing me open with a chainsaw. Within seconds of getting that pain, I shooted off straight to the toilet. Yep, the runs. (This gets alot worse)....

I basically had to stay in the bathroom the whole time because I was going every 2-5 minutes which gradually slowed down to about 10. I wasn't worried though because I knew that I must be getting better. I had to of been right? Nope! Wrong!
I was still in pain and going every 10 minutes but the situation had changed.. I no longer had the runs. (Well technically it was but it wasn't) Nope, excuse the french but It had promoted itself to blood. No shit... Just blood, and ALOT of it! This scared the fuck out of me so the first chance I got, I ran down to the Dr (who's office is about a minutes walk away) and I told him everything. He wanted to see a sample so he gave me the required equipment and off I went.

I gave it back and he told me that results will be in (I think it was the following afternoon?) BTW, he said that it was invasive diarrhea. Anyway... in the meantime (and pay attention people because If you're ever in this situation, remember this)... He gave me some very wonderful medication xD Called "Lofenoxal". This medication was heaven sent I swear. It's designed to stop you from going if you get my drift lol. And it worked immediately... as soon as I took it. Best feeling in the world! Some of the pain was still there but it was almost like I wasn't ill. I still had a fever and felt weak but by then I was feeling alot stronger than I had been.

I went back for the results the following day or whenever. (Maybe the next after that) *Shrugs* and it was caused from chicken the Dr reckons. I beg to differ but he's the man lol. The infection was called 'Campylobacter'.

Point of the story is that I'm fearing so badly that this is going to happen again. It really was one of the worst things I have ever been through

Ech McDonalds... I worked at one, I know better than to eat there

Although occasionally I do (I'm talking like once a year.) when I feel like a quarter pounder. I regret it instantly. Like severe stomach cramps, and I'm stuck on the toilet.

Stuff is effing terrible. The fact that they cook the meat, and leave it sit in a bin (they don't have to throw it out until its been in there TWO hours.) doesn't help anything, I'm sure.

Yep, pretty much.

Just as a word of advice when you go there, order whatever you get with no seasoning (they just add salt and pepper anyhow) on the meat, so that they make it fresh. Same with french fries, otherwise you get the ones that sit under the heat lamps forever.

They add the salt so that it doesn't taste like it's been sitting for so long.
