Welp
I really don't like saying goodbye to people. I know it's not permanent, and the people that I want to see I will see eventually. If not over the summer, next year for sure. But it's just so weird. Jordyn left yesterday and it feels so blech having a half empty dorm. Saying goodbye to Sara was definitely the hardest. I actually got teary-eyed and oh man. I suppose it's because I'm overemotional right now too. Hugging Dan, Alex and Josh as they left was really weird too. Dan was fake crying and Alex promised that we would see each other soon - it was strange. It's nice knowing that I'm going home and that I'm done with school, but it sucks knowing that I won't see a lot of them for 4 months. You tend to get close to the people that you live with for 9 months.
On Wednesday we had a "Last Supper" at Ucellos with me, Jordyn, Lindsey, Sara, Jackie, Josh, Troy and Alex. It was absolutely hilarious and I think a fantastic way to all be together again one last time. Last night I played Yahtzee for awhile, RockBand with everyone and had one last euchre game (which really means 3) with Alex, Josh and Troy. Alex and I won 2/3, which is amazing. We usually suck as partners, and Alex was so incredibly dead last night that I'm shocked he was even together enough to play. xD It was a nice, fun way to end the week.
I've been starting to get my grades back. I ended up with an A- in film, an A- in Arabic (with an 83% on my final!), and an A- in intro to communications! I'm predicting to get a B+ in creative writing, and a B+ or A- in speech, so I'm thoroughly happy with my grades this semester. It makes such a difference when you actually want to take the classes you're in!
I saw Jill post about her classes for next year and that reminds me about how excited I am for my classes! In the fall I'm taking CFV 123 & CFV 125, both the other pre-admission courses for my major, WRT 320 (Poetry workshop, but I'm trying to get into 330 - a fiction workshop - instead), ARA 201 and PHI 103 (logic). It's 17 credit hours, but I think I can handle it just fine. I have 4 classes on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday and none on Friday. I'm very happy about that.
And then in the winter I'm taking ARA 202, ARA 301 (Arabic conversation), CFV 261 (scriptwriting!), CFV 225 (Film Culture) and SOC 280. That's 16 credit hours. I have 3 classes on Monday, 3 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 3 on Thursday and none on Friday again. It should be a really good year. (:
Well, I'd better get packing! My parents are going to be up around 11-12 tomorrow. This week turned out a lot better than I thought it would!
